A private office fit out in a deep terracotta palette, with full height joinery, panelled walls and a workspace that reads more like a study than an office. Colour does the heavy lifting; the carpentry keeps it disciplined.
The room is wrapped in a single colour, floor to cornice, so the panelling and the built in shelving disappear into the walls instead of competing with them. Every vertical line was set out against the window openings before a stud went up.
Joinery is built in place rather than dropped in: shelves, reveals and the cornice all run through, with concealed lighting washing down the bookcases. The desk sits on a stone base, and the lounge end of the room is kept low and soft so one space does two jobs.
The finish schedule is short on purpose. One paint colour, one timber, one stone, and a single metal. That restraint is what lets a small room feel considered rather than busy.
